CUFI Action Fund Welcomes Turkey’s Elimination from F-35 Program

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, the Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Action Fund issued a statement welcoming Turkey’s dismissal from the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program. The Trump administration announced Turkey’s elimination from the program after Turkey began taking delivery of the Russian S-400 missile system last Friday.

“President Erdogan has taken Turkey on a path away from the NATO alliance and Ankara’s previously strong relationship with Israel. Instead, the current Turkish regime is making common cause with the likes of Russia, Iran, and terror groups such as Hamas. Unless Turkey reverses it’s anti-democratic, anti-western, and pro-terrorist stance, the US cannot treat Turkey like an ally,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

“CUFI supports Turkey’s dismissal from the F-35 program, and removal from the program is just the beginning. CUFI supports sanctioning Turkey under the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act, and urges Congress to advance the Eastern Mediterranean Security and Energy Partnership Act without delay,” Parker added.

The CUFI Action Fund, a nonprofit 501(c)(4), nonpartisan organization, is related to the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, Christians United for Israel (CUFI). The Action Fund is dedicated to ensuring our elected officials hear the perspective of the millions of Christian Zionists across the country.

CUFI Action Fund Urges Turkey’s Elimination from F-35 Program

WASHINGTON – On Friday, the Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Action Fund issued a statement urging Turkey’s dismissal from the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program after Turkey began taking delivery of the Russian S-400 missile system.

“Under the leadership of President Erodgan, Turkey continues its regression away from democratic values and towards pariah status. The country’s economy is paying the price, and now so too must its military. Turkey must be removed from the F-35 program,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

“We commend the bipartisanship leadership of the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees for announcing their support for sanctioning Turkey under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act and removing Turkey from the F-35 program, and likewise welcome the bipartisan statement from the House Foreign Affairs Committee leaders calling for Turkey to be eliminated from the Joint Strike Fighter program,” Parker noted.

“Turkey’s continued belligerence, from this latest move to supporting terror and making common cause with America’s enemies, makes the Eastern Mediterranean Security and Partnership Act even timelier. Congress should move this bill forward without delay,” added CUFI Action Fund Director of Public Policy and Strategy Boris Zilberman.

The Eastern Mediterranean Security and Partnership Act was one of three pieces of legislation the 5,000 attendees at this week’s CUFI Washington Summit lobbied in support of. The other pieces of legislation were the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act and the Countering Hezbollah in Lebanon’s Military Act.

CUFI Welcomes Introduction of Countering Hezbollah in Lebanon’s Military Act

WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization welcomed introduction of the bipartisan Countering Hezbollah in Lebanon’s Military Act. The legislation conditions a portion of American aid to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) on the recipient taking measurable steps against Hezbollah, including combatting the terrorist organization’s influence in the LAF and demonstrating “a robust commitment… to disarm Hezbollah.”

“The Lebanese government must recognize that you cannot simultaneously be an ally to the United States and Hezbollah. Hezbollah is a terrorist organization bent on Israel’s destruction and the subjugation of the Lebanese people. The Lebanese Armed Forces are responsible for defending their citizens against violent radicals and ensuring their territory is not used as a base of terrorist operations. They will either achieve results or lose American support,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.”

“We will do what we must to ensure American dollars are not spent in furtherance of anti-American interests – just as we did with the Taylor Force Act and US support for UNRWA,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

“We are very grateful to Senators Ted Cruz and Kevin Cramer and Representatives Lee Zeldin and Elaine Luria, for taking a leadership role on this issue,” Parker added

With more than 6 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its educational message.

CUFI Action Fund Welcomes Introduction of
Protecting Faith-Based and Nonprofit Organizations from Terrorism Act

WASHINGTON – On Monday, the Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Action Fund released a statement expressing support for the Protecting Faith-Based and Nonprofit Organizations from Terrorism Act (S. 1539).

According to the bill's authors, this legislation would "authorize $75 million annually for FYs 2020-2024 for the Department of Homeland Security’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), which provides grants to nonprofits and faith-based organizations to help secure their facilities against a potential terrorist attack."

"We applaud Senators Rob Portman and Gary Peters for recognizing the need for such legislation and working together in a bipartisan fashion to see it introduced. Houses of worship should know no violence whatsoever. It is heartbreaking that we need to enhance the protection of these most hallowed institutions, but that is the sad reality of the world in which we live. The CUFI Action Fund fully supports the senators' effort to protect faith-based and nonprofit organizations," said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

CUFI Action Fund Welcomes Sen. Cotton Resolution Concerning Iran

WASHINGTON – On Thursday, the public policy arm of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the CUFI Action Fund, expressed support for S. Res. 195.

“We cannot appease violent, theocratic regimes, rather, we must continue to exert maximum pressure on Tehran until they unequivocally abandon their present course. Iran is among the world’s worst actors. They continue to pursue a nuclear weapons capability, they are the planet’s leading sponsor of terror, and they seek, at every opportunity, to undermine regional stability,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

“We are very grateful to Senator Cotton for his strong, consistent leadership in confronting Iran’s malevolence. The Mullahs will either get the message or they will see their regime implode,” Parker added.

The Action Fund also wishes to thank Senators Marsha Blackburn, Mike Braun, Kevin Cramer, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, James Inhofe, Mike Rounds, Marco Rubio, Ben Sasse, Pat Toomey, Roger Wicker, and Todd Young for being original cosponsors of the resolution.

The CUFI Action Fund, a non-profit 501 (c) (4), nonpartisan organization, serves as the public policy arm of the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, Christians United for Israel. CUFI Welcomes Trump Administration Announcements Ending Iran Oil Waivers, Targeting Hezbollah Financiers

WASHINGTON – The leaders of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, welcomed the Trump administration’s decisions today to end all oil waivers for Iran and offer a reward for information about financiers of the Islamic Republic’s terrorist proxy, Hezbollah.

“It’s quite clear that President Trump understands the importance of confronting Iran’s malevolence at every corner. Limiting Iran’s revenue and targeting Hezbollah’s financiers is a one-two punch against the Islamic Republic’s support for terror. The President said he would engage in a maximum economic pressure campaign against Iran and with today’s announcements its clear Mr. Trump is keeping to his word,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“Ever since the Iran nuclear agreement’s parameters were announced, CUFI has been lobbying against this deal in large part because it enabled Iran to expand its support for terror. The Trump administration’s decision to target Iran’s pocketbook and Hezbollah’s bankers serves both American and Israeli national security interests,” noted CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

With more than 5 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its message. Each year CUFI holds hundreds of pro-Israel events in cities around the country. CUFI Welcomes Airbnb Reversal on Israeli Properties in West Bank

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, leaders of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, issued statements welcoming the reversal of Airbnb’s policy of delisting Israeli-owned properties in the West Bank.

“For years my church has supported the efforts of Shurat HaDin, and we are very grateful to them for leading the legal element of this battle. This success shows that when the pro-Israel community comes together and speaks with one voice against anti-Israel and anti-Semitic policies, we can prevail. I am very confident that the public and political pressure that was brought to bear made clear to Airbnb that Americans oppose anti-Semitism in any form and the company needs to act accordingly,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“Americans are pro-Israel. We will not tolerate anti-Israel policies and we will defeat any effort to boycott the Jewish state. This shows the importance of state and federal level anti-BDS legislation and I applaud our members for working to ensure anti-BDS laws were rightly applied to Airbnb’s actions at the state level. Likewise, I hope that Airbnb’s short-lived flirtation with Israel’s detractors serves as a cautionary tale for any boardroom that considers a similar dalliance with the anti-Semitic BDS movement,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

CUFI Action Fund Welcomes President Trump’s Designation of IRGC as an FTO

WASHINGTON – On Monday, the Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Action Fund released a statement expressing support for the Trump Administration’s designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

“In 2017, we welcomed the Treasury Department’s designation of the IRGC for their support of terrorist organizations, and we now welcome the Trump Administration’s designation of the IRGC as an FTO. The Islamic Republic is a theocratic dictatorship and the IRGC is the core source of their power. From subjugating the Iranian people to supporting terrorists and rogue regimes, the IRGC is the backbone of Tehran’s tyranny. We must put maximum pressure on Iran and designating the IRGC as an FTO is a good step in that direction,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

CUFI Welcomes President Trump’s Comment on Golan Heights

WASHINGTON - On Thursday, leaders of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, issued a statement welcoming President Trump’s comment that, “… it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights…” The President’s comment comes after a month long CUFI lobbying campaign in support of the position and just one week after the group released a statement backing associated legislation.

“In our meetings with Administration and Capitol Hill officials there’s been a clear understanding of the Golan Heights’ importance to Israel’s security. We are very grateful to the President for having the courage to express that position and look forward to the US formally recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“When it was under Syrian control, the Golan Heights was used to attack Israeli civilians in the region below. During the Syrian civil war we saw all too well the brutality of the Assad regime, including the willingness of Damascus to use chemical weapons. Recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights is the right policy and the time to enact that policy has come,” Hagee added.

“We welcome the President taking such an unambiguous stance on Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. And we also would like to thank those Members of Congress, in particular Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Gallagher, who elevated this issue by sponsoring S. 567/H.R. 1372. It’s now clear that the consensus among Israel’s allies in Washington is that the U.S. should recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights and we look forward to that consensus being reflected in U.S. policy,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

The original cosponsors of legislation, “clarifying that it is United States policy to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights” (S. 567, H.R. 1372), are Senators Ted Cruz (author), Tom Cotton, Marco Rubio, Kevin Cramer, and Lindsey Graham, as well as Representatives Mike Gallagher (author), Brian Mast, Doug Lamborn, Jim Banks, Elise Stefanik, Tom Cole, Mark Meadows, Bill Johnson, Scott Perry, Roger Marshall, Mark Green, Lee Zeldin, Ted Budd, and Jody Hice.

CUFI Urges Congress to Advance Anti-Semitism Awareness Act

March 20, 2019 WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, the leaders of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, expressed support for the recently re-introduced Anti-Semitism Awareness Act (S.852). The bill directs the U.S. Department of Education to use the leading definition of anti-Semitism when investigating allegations of unlawful harassment against Jewish students.

“Anti-Semitism isn’t just a Jewish problem. It’s everyone’s problem. It’s an abomination that must be confronted at every turn. And at an absolute minimum, we must work to protect students, the most vulnerable members of our society, from the rising tide of anti-Semitism sweeping across this country. At this moment, the best way to do that is for the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act to advance without delay,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“Despite the hollow arguments of some, this legislation does not outlaw anti-Semitism – rest assured those who choose to do so will still be allowed to hold anti-Semitic views and spew their hateful rhetoric. But when a student is being unlawfully harassed offering the Department of Education guidance, to examine whether or not the underlying act was motivated by anti-Semitism, only serves to protect students and give their school administrators another tool to ensure the American campus is a safe and welcoming place for all,” noted CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

CUFI Urges Congress to Advance Bill Recognizing Israeli Sovereignty over Golan Heights

March 14, 2019 WASHINGTON – On Thursday, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, announced support for recently introduced legislation “clarifying that it is United States policy to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights” (S. 567, H.R. 1372).

“Ever since Israel took control of the Golan Heights, the Syrian regime has been prevented from using this strategic high ground to attack innocent Israelis in the territory below, and the inhabitants of the Golan have made that region prosper. The Syrian regime’s abhorrent brutality during that country’s most recent civil war, and Iran’s cynical usage of the war to increase its military presence in the Arab Republic, make abundantly clear that any effort to trade this land for peace with Damascus would threaten the security of Jerusalem and Israel. It is past time for our leaders in Washington to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights and make clear to Iran and Syria that any attack on the Golan Heights is an attack on Israel,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“We are very grateful to Sen’s Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton, as well as Rep. Mike Gallagher for leading on this issue. And we are extremely pleased that since this bill was first introduced, elected officials in both chambers have been adding their names as cosponsors. Numerous Members of Congress from both parties have expressed support for US recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. These legislators should follow through on their stated positions and join their colleagues in cosponsoring this important legislation,” added CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

CUFI Welcomes Texas Comptroller Action Against Airbnb

SAN ANTONIO – On Friday, the leaders of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, welcomed the decision by the Texas State Comptroller, Glenn Hegar, to list Airbnb as a company prohibited from receiving state contracts and investment under a recently enacted provision that aims to ensure Texas tax dollars are not used to advance the effort to Boycott, Divest from or Sanction (BDS) Israel.

The Comptroller’s action is in response to Airbnb’s anti-Semitic decision to de-list Jewish owned properties, but no others, in the disputed territory known as the West Bank.

“The anti-Semitic BDS movement is trying to achieve through boycotts what terrorists and hostile nations have failed to achieve with bullets: the end of the modern state of Israel. But they will fail, because no matter how much they lie about and demonize the Jewish state, we at CUFI will ensure that conscientious people have the opportunity to learn the truth about the vibrant and democratic nation of Israel,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“I am extremely proud that my home state of Texas is among those leading the fight to call out Airbnb for its anti-Semitic policy. We are grateful to Comptroller Glenn Hegar, as well as Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and Rep. Phil King for their tireless efforts to oppose the BDS movement,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

“We will continue to work with elected officials across the country in order to ensure the abhorrent BDS movement is stymied, and those who acquiesce to their anti-Semitic demands do not benefit from American tax dollars,” Parker added.

With more than 5 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI Welcomes Senate Introduction of Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act

January 4, 2019 WASHINGTON DC – On Friday, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, welcomed introduction in the Senate of the Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act (S. 1).

“At this pivotal time, we welcome Sen. McConnell’s decision to take decisive action in an effort to strengthen America’s position in the Middle East. CUFI will bring the full weight of our five million members to support this bill should it face any resistance, though, with the exception of a few on the extreme ends of the political spectrum, we expect this legislation will receive widespread support in the Senate,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“This package of legislation will make America and Israel stronger and safer. It includes core elements of our policy agenda, in particular the US-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act, which enjoys bipartisan support and was blocked by just one Senator during the lame duck session last year. We are glad Sen. McConnell has seen fit to ensure this cornerstone of the US-Israel alliance will receive a vote on the Senate floor as a part of this legislation,” noted CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.
