CUFI Action Fund Welcomes Key NDAA Provisions as Bill Advances out of SASC
WASHINGTON – The Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Action Fund released the following statement on Thursday, welcoming the inclusion of key Middle East-oriented provisions in the FY 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which moves to the Senate floor after receiving strong and bipartisan support in Senate Armed Services Committee.
“The current draft of the NDAA does a very good job of ensuring that the U.S. and Israeli ability to coordinate and cooperate in a battlefield of ever-increasing technology. America First does not mean America only; those who believe it does would oppose this bill and see the United States subservient to a radical and authoritarian world,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Hagee Parker.
“We’ve been at war with one variation of radical Islam or another for at least two generations. Just as we sit on the precipice of downing the most violent of those foes, we need strong bipartisan support for salient and wise defense policy,” Parker added.
“In this legislation we see a number of vital policy priorities, some of which we’ve sought for years,” said Boris Zilberman, CUFI Action Fund Senior Director of Public Policy & Strategy.
“Specifically, conditioning aid to the Lebanese Armed Forces has been a CUFI priority since the Obama administration. We are pleased to finally see movement on this issue, and likewise, to see the appropriate level of cooperation, coordination and joint-research planned for the future U.S.-Israel defense relationship,” Zilberman noted.
The CUFI Action Fund, a nonprofit 501(c)(4), nonpartisan organization, is related to the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, Christians United for Israel (CUFI). The Action Fund is dedicated to ensuring our elected officials hear the perspective of the millions of Christian Zionists across the country.
