WASHINGTON – On Monday, the Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Action Fund released a statement expressing support for the Protecting Faith-Based and Nonprofit Organizations from Terrorism Act (S. 1539).

According to the bill’s authors, this legislation would “authorize $75 million annually for FYs 2020-2024 for the Department of Homeland Security’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), which provides grants to nonprofits and faith-based organizations to help secure their facilities against a potential terrorist attack.”

“We applaud Senators Rob Portman and Gary Peters for recognizing the need for such legislation and working together in a bipartisan fashion to see it introduced. Houses of worship should know no violence whatsoever. It is heartbreaking that we need to enhance the protection of these most hallowed institutions, but that is the sad reality of the world in which we live. The CUFI Action Fund fully supports the senators’ effort to protect faith-based and nonprofit organizations,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

The CUFI Action Fund, a nonprofit 501(c)(4), nonpartisan organization, is related to the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, Christians United for Israel (CUFI). The Action Fund is dedicated to ensuring our elected officials hear the perspective of the millions of Christian Zionists across the country.
