Pastor John Hagee Addresses Antisemitism in Right-Wing Circles in Remarks at the Embassy of Israel

WASHINGTON – Pastor John Hagee, founder and Chairman of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, delivered remarks this evening at the Jerusalem Post Conference hosted by the Embassy of Israel in Washington. According to his prepared remarks, Hagee directly confronted the growing presence of antisemitic rhetoric within segments of the American right and urged Christian leaders to clearly repudiate it.

In the speech, Hagee told attendees, “You cannot call yourself a Christian and hate the Jewish state or its people… Bible-believing Christians know that nothing prevails over the Word of God—not your politics, not your political party, not your favorite pundit.”

His remarks come as conservative politics faces internal strain over Israel, with recent reporting documenting the rise of right-wing voices distancing the movement from its historically strong support for the Jewish state and, in some cases, amplifying antisemitic or explicitly anti-Israel themes. Hagee’s comments stressed that Christian support for Israel is grounded in Scripture, citing Genesis 12:3 and Deuteronomy 7:6, and affirmed that “antisemitism is sin.”

“Like their predecessors, the modern enemies of Israel—be they in Congress, on college campuses, in our churches, or in the sands of Qatar— they will all come to know that there is no expiration date on God’s unambiguous warning: ‘Dare not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm’ (Psalm 105:15),” he said.

“Those in this country who have monetized Jew-hatred and are actively turning antisemitism into clicks and cash—they are both biblically ignorant and morally bankrupt,” Hagee added.

The Pastor also warned about foreign efforts to influence public debate on Israel, including Qatar’s extensive spending in American education, entertainment and media urging Christians to remain vigilant and to “stiffen our spines and vote out of office every antisemitic voice in Washington,” regardless of political affiliation.

“Tonight, we cannot ignore the demonic spirit of Jew-hatred that has become normalized in certain circles, on both the right and the left. This is not random. This is not a coincidence. What has happened in our nation is not organic activism; it is paid anarchy. Hello, Qatar, we see you,” Hagee thundered.

With more than 10 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its educational message.

CUFI Horrified by Pro-Hamas Terror Attack in Washington

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CUFI Horrified by Pro-Hamas Terror Attack in Washington

WASHINGTON – Following Wednesday evening’s horrific terror attack on an event hosted by the American Jewish Committee (AJC) at the Capital Jewish Museum, the leadership of Christians United for Israel (CUFI) expressed their heartbreak and outrage over the cold-blooded murders of Yaron Lischinsky, Sarah Milgrim and the wounding of four others:

“May the God of all hope comfort those who mourn as we weep for Yaron and Sarah. We pray for their loved ones and continue to stand resolutely with Israel and the Jewish people against this unmitigated evil. If there is a line to be drawn, then draw it around both Christians and Jews, for we are one. This terror attack reminds the world that Jew hatred begins with words, but it doesn’t end there,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends at the Israeli Embassy and American Jewish Committee. The terrorists will not win, and those who wish to globalize the intifada will be defeated. Know this, the Jewish people and Israel are not alone, not today, not ever,” Pastor Hagee added.

“This tragedy is a harbinger for what is to come if our leaders continue to equivocate in the face of Jew hatred. The policies that this crisis demands — defining, combating, and physically defending against antisemitism, are neither partisan nor political: they are a moral imperative. Any elected official that has the temerity to oppose protecting religious institutions or the Antisemitism Awareness Act is effectively aiding and abetting the pro-Hamas movement in America. Or, was the terrorist simply exercising his freedom of speech as he screamed ‘Free Palestine’ after he killed a Yaron and Sarah?” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Hagee Parker.

With more than 10 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its educational message.

CUFI Leaders Applaud White House for Order Combating Antisemitism

CUFI Leaders Applaud White House for Order Combating Antisemitism

SAN ANTONIO – On Wednesday, the leadership of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, applauded President Trump for issuing an executive order reaffirming his adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism and instructing all departments and agencies to use the IHRA definition when enforcing civil rights law.

Today’s order additionally and importantly requires all departments and agencies to report within 60 days all civil and criminal authorities they can use to combat antisemitism.

CUFI testified before the House Judiciary Committee on this issue nearly a decade ago and has sought to advance the adoption of the IHRA definition at both the federal and state level.

“One cannot defeat that which they are unwilling to define. Through this executive order, President Trump has doubled down on his landmark 2019 policy adopting the IHRA definition and reiterated his administration will continue their zero tolerance for Jew hatred. Now more than ever, I along with CUFI’s 10 million members are very grateful to the President for his unequivocal stance on this vital issue,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“Antisemitism isn’t just a Jewish problem. It’s everyone’s problem. Despite the arguments of some, which are as loud as they are inaccurate, this definition neither outlaws antisemitism nor is it anti-Christian—it merely provides those tasked with confronting antisemitism with a clear definition of the world’s oldest and most prevalent hatred. If you have a problem with the IHRA definition, then you are the problem,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

CUFI Welcomes Alabama’s Update Holocaust Education Standards

SAN ANTONIO – On Thursday, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, issued the following statements welcoming the Alabama State Department of Education’s adoption of revised social studies standards which include among the most robust Holocaust education components in the country.

“Any failure to educate our children about the dangers of antisemitism, is tantamount to standing idly by as this scourge infects them. Proper education about world history is vital to ensuring a tolerant and righteous population. I commend the State of Alabama for their newly adopted Holocaust education standards; in Montgomery they are indeed fighting the good fight,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

“Across the country antisemitism has reached fever pitch, and the Alabama Department of Education has risen to the challenge by advancing these strong standards. We are deeply grateful to the State Board of Education and the numerous allies with whom we worked in the Jewish and Christian communities to see this through,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

CUFI, alongside a host of local leaders and organizations including the Alabama Holocaust Commission, the Alabama-Israel Task Force, the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Birmingham Jewish Federation, the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama and the Mobile Area Jewish Federation, have been working since 2021 to see Alabama’s Holocaust education standards  enhanced, including working to secure unanimous support in the legislature for the same.

CUFI Applauds Nomination of Governor Mike Huckabee to Serve as U.S. Ambassador to Israel

WASHINGTON – The leadership of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, issued the following statement on Tuesday applauding President-elect Donald J. Trump’s nomination of former Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee to serve as his ambassador to Israel and congratulating Governor Huckabee on the historic occasion:

“President-elect Trump has made an inspiring choice in nominating Governor Mike Huckabee, a man of deep faith and love for the Jewish state and its people, to represent his administration in Israel at this historic time. I have no doubt that my dear friend Governor Huckabee will strengthen the bonds between our nations and help shepherd President Trump’s vision for a safe, strong, and secure Israel,” said CUFI Founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee. “Israel will find in Governor Huckabee a leader prepared to listen, learn, and offer an outstretched hand in friendship. I look forward to his arrival in the eternal and undivided capital of Israel.”

“There is no better person to represent the American people in Jerusalem at this time. Governor Mike Huckabee believes in Israel’s right to self-determination and defense, not because it is politically convenient to do so but because these are immutable tenets of his core beliefs. Whether serving his congregation as a Pastor or his constituents as Governor, Huckabee has both the heart and mind for this Ambassadorship, and we know he will work tirelessly to ensure the relationship between America and Israel remains stronger than ever,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker. “We congratulate Governor Huckabee and his family, and look forward to a swift confirmation by the United States Senate.”

CUFI Rejects ICJ Opinion Undermining Jewish Claims In The Holy Land

WASHINGTON – On Friday, the leadership of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, released the following statement rejecting the gross overreach and willful blindness to indisputable facts of anti-Israel activist judges at the United Nations’ International Court of Justice (ICJ).

“The Word of God is true, and the Children of Israel are the indigenous people of the Holy Land. Either of these facts on their own should be enough to rally the world to Israel’s cause.

“Tragically, in a world comfortable with Jew-hatred, the concept of alternative facts, and a court led by an anti-Israel judge, we do not expect the international community will see the light of truth anytime soon.

“Neither the UN nor the ICJ has the authority to make pronouncements about Judea and Samaria.”

The ICJ’s advisory opinion, On the legal consequences arising from the policies and practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, can be read here.

ICYMI: Exposing Antisemitism Starts With Rejecting Misinformation On Critical Legislation

ICYMI: Exposing Antisemitism Starts With Rejecting Misinformation On Critical Legislation

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, Religion News Service published an op-ed authored by Christians United for Israel (CUFI) founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee rejecting the misinformation and theological falsehoods being peddled by a small but vocal minority on Capitol Hill seeking to upend critical bipartisan legislation, the Antisemitism Awareness Act, which the U.S. Senate should pass without delay.

CUFI has supported the Antisemitism Awareness Act since 2016 when it passed the Senate by unanimous consent. That year, the FBI reported that anti-Jewish bias motivated 53.3 percent of reported incidents of anti-religious hate crimes. In October 2023, FBI data showed that in 2022, the last year for which data is available, anti-Jewish bias motivated nearly 55 percent of all reported anti-religious hate crimes. An all-time high is widely anticipated to be reached when data is published on reported hate crimes reported in 2023.

Earlier this month, Pastor Hagee and Ralph Reed, Chairman of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, penned a letter to Congressional leadership in both the U.S. House and Senate addressing false allegations surrounding the Antisemitism Awareness Act. “To the Biblically literate,” they wrote, “claims the Antisemitism Awareness Act is anti-Christian are as insulting as they are injurious.”

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2023 (H.R. 6090) on May 1, 2023, with resounding bipartisan support. In the U.S. Senate, companion legislation enjoys bipartisan support from nearly one-third of the chamber.

WASHINGTONOn Wednesday, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization released the following statement upon the House of Representatives’ advancement of the Antisemitism Awareness Act:

“CUFI has supported this legislation since 2016 and we welcome its passage through the House, especially at a time when colleges are being overtaken by outside, pro-Hamas, antisemitic agitators.

“We are grateful to Speaker Johnson (R-LA), Reps. Lawler (R-NY), Gottheimer (D-NJ), Miller (R-OH), and Moskowitz (D-FL), for their steadfast leadership in support of this measure. CUFI Applauds Senate Passage of Israel Aid

CUFI Applauds Senate Passage of Israel Aid

WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, the leadership of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, released the following statements welcoming the Senate’s advancement of the national security supplemental.

“This aid package will increase Israel’s ability to defend herself and decrease the likelihood of a wider conflict in the region. We applaud Speaker Johnson for seeing this issue through and are grateful to the Members of Congress, on both sides of the aisle, whose actions in support of this legislation place them firmly on the right side of history and the Word of God,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.

The vital Israel aid legislation, which now heads to the President’s desk, was the exclusive focus of an emergency fly-in hosted by CUFI last week, during which 250 ministry and community leaders met with their Representatives to discuss the importance of supporting Israel.

The organization also launched an Action Alert in the days leading up to the House vote which saw 65,000 individuals email Congress in support of the aid.

“Support for Israel, as she battles Iran and its proxies, is non-negotiable. The vast majority of Congress understands that 4/13 changed the world as we know it—and as such we are particularly grateful to those Members of Congress who reconsidered their position and voted in favor of this critical legislation. The bipartisanship exhibited in both chambers over the past ten days should be applauded. If Saudi Arabia and Jordan could set their differences aside to stand with the Jewish state on 4/13 then so can Republicans and Democrats,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

In addition to the Israel emergency supplemental, the 21st Century Peace Through Strength Act, included several additional CUFI priorities, chief among them the Stop Harboring Iranian Petroleum (SHIP) Act, which was one of the group’s 2023 CUFI Washington Summit legislative agenda items, as well as additional strong sanctions on the Islamic Republic and its proxies.

CUFI Applauds House Passage of Aid to Israel

CUFI Applauds House Passage of Aid to Israel

WASHINGTON – On Saturday, the leadership of Christian United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel, organization released the following statements applauding the House of Representatives for advancing emergency aid to Israel.

“Speaker Johnson’s leadership has never shown more brightly than today. Advancing this security assistance moves us one step closer to ensuring the will of the American people becomes the policy of the United States and Israel has the vital support she needs to defeat our common enemies,” said CUFI founder and chairman Pastor John Hagee.

In advance of Saturday’s vote, CUFI held an emergency meeting in Washington, hosting 250 ministry and community leaders from across the country. During the fly-in, the diverse group of Christian leaders from around the country met with their representatives on Capitol Hill to express support for bipartisan emergency supplemental aid to Israel.

CUFI then, on Thursday, launched an Action Alert asking members of Congress to support both the aid to Israel and the rule that allowed the legislation to come to the floor. Nearly 65,000 Christian Zionists nationwide responded to the alert.

“Some leaders win to govern, others govern to win—what Speaker Johnson has achieved this week proves he is the former. That the Speaker was able to build bipartisan consensus should be applauded, not condemned,” said CUFI Action Fund Chairwoman Sandra Parker.

“Our message to Congress remains unchanged: Each vote against this aid was a vote against the national security interests of the United States, against our allies, and was no doubt applauded by the world’s tyrants,” Parker added.

In addition to the Israel emergency supplemental, the 21st Century Peace Through Strength Act, included several top CUFI priorities, chief among them the Stop Harboring Iranian Petroleum (SHIP) Act, which was one of the group’s 2023 CUFI Washington Summit legislative agenda items, as well as additional strong sanctions on the Islamic Republic and its proxies.
